A Black and Hispanic / Latino Social Action Group
BlacAc was formed to address the continual and escalating crime in the Black and Brown communities, the disenfranchisement of its people, and the lack of access to resources and opportunities for that population in Rowan County, NC. It’s comprised of a large group of nonpartisan like-minded Black and Hispanic/Latino citizens who are committed to shaping and changing the trajectory of their communities. The BlacAc Group is designated as a private coalition of concerned citizens of color committed to fighting for improvement and change in the areas of Social Justice, Politics, Education, Business Development, and Law Enforcement. It is a forward thinking, progressive, outcomes and solutions based Group focused on identifying opportunities for the growth and improvement for Black and Hispanic/Latinos. The Group was not formed to show, or direct hate inspired language or actions towards any other community or culture. Instead, we will engage only in discussions and actions that further our Purpose, and will refrain from engaging in any activities that operate outside of our stated purview or with those who don’t support our communities.
Membership will be limited, and accepted on an invitation based process only. All members will be vetted to ensure the Group is comprised of members with like-minded views, goals and similar approaches to addressing issues.
The Group will solicit community concerns that are impacting our communities from invited members internally and from those citizens externally . We will then weigh the merits and address those issues looking for viable and expedient solutions. The Group will follow a democratic voter based process to address all issues undertaken.
